Me too ... I feel proud to wear my own stuff, even if the seams aren't perfectly straight and there may be an odd thread sticking out. Hard to feel proud in something super-cheap, that will fall apart as soon as you wash it. :-)

i could not agree more! i have sworn off buying chain-store clothing for many years now, but occasionally i feel the temptation (SO dying to see the Liberty stuff at Target, but i'm afraid i will have a moment of weakness and BUY something)... but i feel good about my choice and wish more people would think this way. i think slowly, they are. it amazes me when i read some of my fave crafty blogs and they talk about clothes they bought at Anthro and Target... but i forget that everyone can't make their own, or afford to buy from only independent makers!
